"The Lactating Automaton"

Written and directed by acclaimed filmmaker Andrew Legge “The Lactating Automaton” [35mm shortfilm] is set in the early 1900’s and tells the story of Maria, a young girl raised by a robotic wet nurse after both of her parents die.
The Production Designer on the film was Olwen Kellaghan, with Art Direction by Jessica Timlin. As Art Direction Assistant, I was tasked with creating a number of once-off props and detailed instruments for the elaborate sets, as well as models for use with some of the films stunts. The props were made within a two week time frame and within an extremely limited budget. Please see below.

“The Lactating Automaton”, starring Dominic West [The Wire, 300] will be premiered in 2011 in the Lincoln Theatre in New York.

MyHome.ie 'Fade Street' Stings

We were commissioned by Trilogy Media Productions to construct a set for a series of stings for the MyHome.ie sponsorship of RTÉ’s ‘Fade Street’. The brief? “To build a set from scratch that would portray a realistic contemporary living room, that would be big enough to house five dogs, tall enough to prevent flight of four hens, confined enough to save losing three rabbits and two gerbils, and strong enough to withstand the ramming of a fully grown farmyard pig.” Easy!

Production Design was by Anna Sweeney with Art Direction by Jessica Timlin. The set was constructed by myself, I also had duties of set dressing and stand by props.

This set [up to 16 flats with doors and windows] is made to order and available for hire. Please contact us for further details

Zombie Bashers

“Pascal and Mick are two former Plumbers turned Zombie exterminators in an Ireland infested by the Living dead. We follow them as they run their small Zombie bashing business that comes under attack by rival exterminators, serious lack of work and the taxman sticking his nose in as per usual. If it’s dead, they’ll kill it.”

Written by Stephen Shields and directed by Conor McMahon for Tailored Films "Zombie Bashers" is an online TV series and winner of RTE's Storyland 2. The Production Designer  was Neill Treacy, as Assistant I was tasked with creating a number of the more unusual props, some of which can be seen below.
